Probably a decade or more ago I tuned into an on-line radio station, Whole Wheat Radio.
I think it’s based out of Alaska, not sure now.
Might still be going for all I know.
They played lot of indy folk stuff.
This is where you hear the heart of the writer.
The more non-commercial stuff.
All of the sudden my ear caught this awesome acoustic guitar.
I turned my head and listened while this breathy male voice started singing.
I was captured by the lines I was hearing.
Just the way it was written had my gloots stuck to the chair…
And the acoustic playing was superb.
Since then one of my favorite CD’s is Stephen Fearing’s So Many Miles album.
I mean to tell ya. If you’re looking for some talented, live acoustic playing, you need to check it out.
Anyway, the song I heard that day was The Longest Road.
In fact, there is a line from that song I use as an example in August’s Tune Booster…
Check out Stephen’s tune and take a guess which line I used.
And, August’s TB just happens to be up, ready to be robbed from me.
I say robbed because through some changes in the newsletter, I was able to clear up the time it takes to produce it, and as a result, it’s now cheaper than a swallow of Starbucks per day.
I ain’t’ kiddin’ either.
