Pitchless post in honor of…

I can’t think of a time I’ve heard or seen this guy and I wasn’t inspired to write.

When he talks about songwriting. It sounds so cavalier. So easy.

If I ever wanted to write with someone famous, this would probably be my first choice.

Not because he’s famous. Capt’n don’t cow to anyone.

But, because he’s just so easy going and kills songwriting without even trying.

He’s been writing for decades and decades and still loves it.

Can make something awesome from out of pretty much nothing.

Is quite wide in his scope of writing.

Give him a random phrase from a poem, and he’ll whip up a tune in no time.

A phrase ppops in his head, and he’ll write an entire song for it.

Figures out the puzzle of what it means to him.

His process is so like mine, I’m always shocked. Mostly, because when I started, I thought I was some freak, or there was more to it.

Still, he says it’s like starting over every time.

One of the most respected songwriters ol’ Capt’n let’s in the, member’s only club, when it comes to taking in everything they say about songwriting.

And there aren’t many with this status I’ll tell ya that.

And, it ain’t often I post without reminding you of TuneBoosters.

But, in honor of  this particular writer. Here’s a pitchless post with a link to NPRs All Songs considered interview with Sir Paul McCartney: http://www.npr.org/sections/allsongs/2016/06/10/481256944/all-songs-1-a-conversation-with-paul-mccartney
