There I was…
A pizza-faced kid, needle on the LP, finger pressed on the LP’s label, whirling my finger counter-clockwise looking for the hidden secret message in Stairway to Heaven played backwards.
I was shocked!
It’s actually there lol.
“Here’s to my sweet satan.”
Call it a freakcident, or some message from the spiritual world figuring some kid will actually make sense of a backwards soundbyte, when listening frontwards is as cryptic as WWII military codes.
But. There’s no freakcident in reversing a lyric in May’s TuneBooster though.
You won’t find any secret message.
Though my wicked ways of songwriting tips work, there’s nothing satanic about it.
And ain’t no spiritual danger either.
Plain simple, non-ninja, lesson on how to write lyrics which a listener can’t help but dig into.
Don’t think I’ve ever seen this type of lesson in any songwriting book, and yet so profitable when it comes to recognizing good writing.
