Jax marks the spot

Here in the U.S. it’s my grandstar Jax’s birthday, Monday, and that happens to be the day November’s issue of Tune Booster goes up…

And October’s comes down.

That little rock star will be three.

In case you missed it, In your member’s area, that little buddy is up on a video strummin’ his six string and humming along.

I still need to get you a clip of him whacking his drum kit. It’s a hoot watching him. He really gets into it.

Sadly, not long after that clip, his guit-fiddle in the video suffered a snapped neck.

That’s what happens when you use it for a balance beam at 3-years old.

Going to have to sit the little guy down and have a ‘gampa’ to Jax chat about treatment of instruments.

Anyway. So Monday’s the day.

Got a co-writers cheat sheet cooked up for you this month in Tune Booster.

Dos and don’ts of hangin’ with someone else and whipping up a song.

One of the don’ts will take the heart out of a writing session in 4-seconds flat.

Surprising how many people actually do this too.

But you won’t.

And if someone tries it on you? You’ve got a couple alternatives before just never writing with them again.

But, prob’ly won’t come to that. Co-writing is a hoot.

There’s over thirty tips this month to keep you in the “co-writing know.”

Plus, a few assignments for the month with Skin in the Game and Solo Exercises.

And don’t forget your zany object writing topics to run off at the fingers.

And, as advertised, a birthday boy bonus.

Not for Jax’s B-day. Yours truly.

I’m putting a tune of mine in the buff for you to look at…

Down to the skeleton actually.

Got some embarrassing, raw recordings from my digital recorder trying to work out lyrics and melody.

I’m probably not going to do this again… too embarrassing.

But, it’s interesting to follow along from the dusty stages of a tune, to its finished version.

Even got a multi-hit songwriter’s take on it.

Just how bloody a slaughter will it be?

All depends, the faint of heart should be okay… I think.

She publishes Monday, so if you’ve got access to the member’s area, download Octobers issue by then.

If you’re not a monthly newsletter subscriber, you’ve got two days to sign-up and still get Octobers before it comes down.
